Refugee Education UK and City of Sanctuary have collaborated to develop a suite of training modules to help Further Education colleges to grow in their confidence and expertise to support refugee and asylum seeking students.

We hope that these training sessions will help college staff to create a culture of welcome, and to identify and confidently apply practical interventions that promote success for these students. These trainings will also help Further Education colleges fulfil many of the criteria to receive a College of Sanctuary accreditation.

The Further Education systems and processes in each of the devolved nations of the United Kingdom are different. Whilst our training focuses on the English system - and we are unable to cover differences between nations in depth - participants from Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland have confirmed that they still found the course material beneficial.
